AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Would you like to help find a cure for Cancer? If so, the American Cancer Society would like you to enroll in their 'Cancer Prevention Study 3.'

 Organizers met with Americus elected officials and citizens Tuesday morning for the Community Kickoff. Over breakfast, they talked about the benefits of joining the study.

The data collected for 'CPS-3' will focus on your medical history and other genetic factors that contribute to Cancer.

To qualify you must be between the ages of 30-65, never been diagnosed with cancer, and willing to make a long-term commitment. There will be no compensation for taking part in this study.

"There is no payment at all. We ask people to be willing to make a long term commitment. We are really asking for their time," said Project Manager Kanika Whipple.

Albany will have it's CPS-3 Community Kickoff Wednesday at 8:00AM. They will serve breakfast  at the kickoff at Phoebe Northwest.
