October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Activities will be held throughout South Georgia in order to raise awareness about the disease.

The leader of the free world kicked off the celebration by changing the color of his current residence.  Get ready to see a lot of pink this month.

The White House was turned into the pink house to celebrate the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. President Obama encourages all Americans to join in on the fight against Breast Cancer.

Experts say a mammogram is the best way to fight Breast Cancer. According to the CDC, regular mammogram are the best way to detect the early stages of Breast Cancer.

The CDC guidelines say women ages 50-74 should have a mammogram every two years. If your family has a history of Breast Cancer, you're doctor may want you to start earlier.

Always talk to your doctor and let them know if you see or feel any lumps in your breasts. In 2011, more than 200,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer according to the American Cancer Society.
