ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
More than 40 Phoebe Putney employees were honored Monday night for going above and beyond regular duty.
The hospital held its annual Caring Hands Banquet at the Nelson Tift Building to highlight workers who go the extra mile to care for patients or coworkers.
Each honoree received a Caring Hands pin.
CEO Joel Wernick says these employees are special.
"This is not a popularity contest. It's not an employee of the month. The actual service is being recognized and connected back with the person who provided it," said Wernick.
Top award recipients also received a wrist watch with the caring hands logo engraved in it.
