A Lowndes County man is behind bars after deputies uncovered nearly half a million dollars of marijuana.
It could be several days before investigators know the official cause of death of a South Georgia Tech student who died last week in a campus fountain.
Officials are awaiting toxicology reports on 19-year-old Adrianna Rhine.
The adult education major was found unresponsive Thursday evening in this fountain.
Sumter County Sheriff Pete Smith says Rhine had her young child with her on campus and that may be why she ended up in the fountain.
"There was a ball we retrieved from the fountain and that's what we think led her into the fountain. She could have slipped or fell. Numerous things could have happened. We're still investigating everything," said Sumter Co. Sheriff Pete Smith.
The fountain is still blocked off as an investigation scene.
Counselors were available at South Georgia Tech today and flags were flown at half staff in Rhine's honor.
