THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - An accused serial burglar faces another charge as police in Thomasville continue to investigate dozens of recent break-ins.
33-year old Benjamin Worthy is now charged with breaking into Clark Auto Sales.
One Monday morning, about a month ago, business owner Bill McDowell opened his automotive shop and quickly realized he was the victim of a crime.
"It's an inconvenience and clean up and you know it's just aggravating."
McDowell says the thief stole a 32 inch flat screen TV, along with boxes of oatmeal cream pies and Rice Krispie Treats.
McDowell says the suspect even stole the first two dollars he ever made, that were framed above the front door. "I didn't like it. I mean I had it for 25 years and I hated it. They got it. It's just something I saved. The first dollar I made."
McDowell says his shop has been hit before, but this was the first time a suspect was caught. "I'm glad he got caught and the police department did a good job of apprehending him."
The crime at Clark Auto Sales was just one of dozens of burglaries to go down in Thomasville over the last two months.
"We're still asking the public if they have any information about any crime or if they have seen any items that someone is trying to sell that they think may be stolen or may be suspicious to them, by all means give the police department a call," said Lt. Eric Hampton.
McDowell says so far none of the stolen of the items have been recovered.
Thomasville investigators say they still need the public's help on those unsolved burglaries.
