Firefighters had to evacuate two apartments on Whispering Pines Road early Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to 1309 Whispering Pines Apartment A just before 7:00am.
It took them less than 30 minutes to have everything under control. Firefighters had to evacuate people in Apartments A and B.
Battalion Chief Keith Ambrose says this all started because of food left unattended on the stove.
Apartment A has fire damage to the roof while both apartments have smoke damage.
