Westover High junior Tanner Stumpe's love of soccer paid off for the Patriots last week against Monroe.
Tanner Stumpe wins this week's WALB Albany Area Player of the Week Award.
Dr. Paul Michas made the presentation to Stumpe at the Orthopaedic Associates Clinic this week.
The junior kicker nailed a 42-yard field goal late in the 4th quarter to give Westover a big region win over Monroe.
A big kick for young man who worked hard in the offseason to earn his spot on the Patriot team.
Tanner Stumpe said. "I was pretty good at it so why don't I just start training this. So over the summer I worked in all three phases. I just got really good at it after a while."
Westover is on the road Friday at Cairo.
