Man arrested after high-speed pursuit

Marion Chadwick "Chad" Wells was arrested in Worth County after a lengthy chase that started in Colquitt County, near the intersection of Hwy 319 and Old Norman Park.

It turns out that the motorcycle rider had felony warrants from Tifton.

The pursuit was going south on Hwy 319, but Wells soon turned north into Worth County.  The pursuit ended about five miles south of Sumner, well inside Worth County, on Sumner Road near Wright's Chapel Road. 

Speeds reached 120 MPH during the 25-mile chase.  When Wells was finally stopped, deputies found drug paraphernalia located on his motorcycle.

 Wells is charged with: 

1) Fleeing and attempting to Elude

2) Reckless Driving

3) Speeding

4) Driving on the wrong side of road

5) Failure to  Maintain Lane

6) Failure to Stop at Stop Sign

7) Wrong class of license

8) Passing on Hill or Curve

9) Criminal Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamines

Norman Park Police Chief John Brannen thanks the Worth County Sheriff's Office, Colquitt County Dispatch and Sheriff's Office for their assistance in helping apprehend Wells.
