MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Beadles Lumber Company on 900 6th Street S.E. in Moultrie caught fire about dawn this morning.

The call went out to the fire department at 6:45am, and the fire is now under control. 

Firefighters are watching for hot spots, and will be there to quench them through the day.

"I saw the fires going above the pine trees when I was at McGhee's Muffler. I came down on my bike to check on my uncle," said witness Robert Lee.

Moultrie Fire Department Captain Kenneth Hannon says it appears the fire started at the wood drying kiln.  The fire was contained to that building.

The South GA Chapter of Red Cross responded to assist the two units of firefighters.

 No foul play is expected.
