Remember what the old Heritage House Hotel near downtown Albany looked like for years? The site sure looks different now.
After years of court battles with the former owners, demolition on the big eyesore on Oglethorpe Boulevard is complete, all the debris is gone, and grass has been planted on the lot.
Oxford Construction bought the property and handled the demolition and cleanup. The city is paying Oxford about $1.1 million for the work and the property.
The deed will be handed over to the city in a ceremony Friday.
