Westover High School hosted Senior Parent's Night, Monday, to help families plan for what students will do after graduation.
Representatives from area colleges and the military were on hand to speak to hundreds of parents and students.
School officials want students to start thinking about local higher education institutions to save money.
"We're noticing with the price of college and college degrees increasing, the college fees increasing, that we had great opportunities here. A lot of times we give that information to our seniors, but they don't necessarily give that information to their parents because they're always thinking I want to leave town," said Event Organizer Tracy Knighton.
Parents and students also learned about various forms of financial aid to help pay for college.
