Parents attended a workshop in Albany, Monday, to learn how to protect their children.

The Police and Recreation and Parks Departments held the Crimes Against Children Workshop at the Law Enforcement Center.

It focused on internet safety and how to respond to strangers.

Organizers say children and parents need to be aware of the dangers kids may face.

"To me, it's a lot of bad things happening to kids today, so I wanted to put on a workshop that can bring the public out so they can get information as to how to protect their kids and for kids to know things to protect themselves also," said Event organizer Mildred Green.

Albany Police officers and representatives from the Lily Pad sexual assault center talked to parents.
