Ground Assault expected in Tifton

Thomas County Central and Tift County have plenty in common.

Both love to run the football and both are going for their third straight win this season on Friday night.

One of the winning streaks will end tonight when Thomas County Central plays at Tift County.

The Blue Devils feature the Power I offense and tailback Reshar Daniels who has rushed for almost 700 yards in three games.

Thomas County Central has several rushing weapons in their split veer offense led by junior quarterback Adam Choice.

It may be John Reid's first year coaching at Tift County but he is familiar with the Jackets veer attack after a third round playoff loss to Thomas County Central five years ago.

Tift County head coach John Reid said. "They are going to utilize an outstanding quarterback and a great dive back. Make you play assignment football. Which I think in a lot of ways will discipline your team for the rest of the season."

Thomas County Central head coach Bill Shaver said. "What a good running team wants to do is control the clock. Keep the other team's defense on the field the whole time. That is going to be the key. Is whose is going to be the one to do what they want to do offensively. I think the one that does that will be the one that comes out with a win."

The game of the week begins at 8:00 p.m. Friday in Tifton.
