THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - You can donate to several south Georgia organizations this Sunday just by going to the movies.

As part of the 9th annual Film and Food For a Cause, ticket and concession sales, from all 27 Georgia Theatre Company locations will benefit the United Way and Salvation Army.

Organizers say the money goes to numerous good causes.

"Whether it be agencies that focus on helping the elderly with programs like meals on meals, all the way through different educational programs that are done through our local YMCA and children and youth programs there," said Thomas County United Way VP and Campaign Co-Chair Chris Quick.

To date, the Film and Food For a Cause event has raised close to a half million dollars.
