Dougherty County Commissioners voted on an increase in employee health insurance premiums this morning. @

Dougherty County will have a 3% increase in medical costs, which equals about $144,000 overall. The county will pay three-quarters of that and employees will pay one-quarter.

This year employees will pay 80% of their premium for Dental. Last year, the county paid 100%.

Dougherty County Administrator Richard Crowdis said that at least benefits weren't cut. "The good thing about the insurance plan is there were no reductions in benefits. We were able to add additional benefits."

The Dougherty County will have a finance committee meeting Tuesday at 8:30am with County Police. Commissioners plan to discuss more budget issues.
