Albany State head volleyball coach Robert Skinner says he'll find out just how well his team will compete in the conference this year after this week's SIAC Crossover Tournament at Kentucky State.
The Lady Rams have opened conference play with two straight wins and have a slight lead over Claflin in the SIAC East Division. ASU is trying to reclaim a conference title after winning 9 consecutive SIAC Championships, a streak that ended two years ago.
Coach Skinner believes this year's team has all the tools to get the job done and it all starts with the Crossover Tournament this week.
Skinner said "We believe that we have the team that can do a lot of good things this year as far as winning the conference championship. It's just going to depend on whether we can stay healthy and whether we can stay focused. That's one of our goals so we really going to go out and try to do what we set out to do this year and that is to recapture the conference crown."
The SIAC Crossover Tournament begins Thursday and run through Saturday at Kentucky State
