BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Business owners in Bainbridge are breathing a sigh of relief Tuesday with the arrests of Lorenzo Snell and Calvin Taylor.
"I'm glad they have been apprehended because it's kind of bad for us to have a businesses here and work so hard to have it broken into," said Super Lube Manager Al Wilburn.
Six businesses including Super Lube, American Pie Pizza, and Dina's Hair Salon were broken into on August 7th.
Two more were hit six days later.
"During that time, over the course of the month, we gathered information, recovered stolen property, outreached to the community for information," said Major Robert Humphrey.
Investigators say they found thousands of dollars worth of stolen items from Dina's Hair Salon at Snell's and Taylor's homes.
Wilburn says the thieves did not walk out with much merchandise, but they did cause a lot of damage. "It was kind of expensive to replace the glass, but we were able to do that and we are just going to move forward."
Investigators say they think Snell and Taylor were the only burglars involved.
"From surveillance video from two different businesses, it indicated and showed two people entered the store and two people left. No other suspects in the case have been indicated to us," said Humphrey.
Wilburn says this break-in encouraged him to update the shop's security system. "If you do have motion detectors in your shop and you have a good alarm system company, just have them come out and tweak your system for you. That way the motion detectors will be able to pick up more movement inside your shop."
Both suspects are charged with five counts of burglary and one count of criminal attempt of burglary.
Snell remains in the Decatur County Jail, but Taylor was released on bond.
