Tuesday is National Prisoner of War and Missing in Action Day. MCLB held their annual breakfast in their honor.

Tuesday morning, Staff Sergeant Edward L. Dement was the guest of honor. He spoke to a packed crowd about his time working as a B-24 Gunner during WWII.

Dement talked about how he spent a year as a POW in Mostar, Yugoslavia. He wants current Marines to take away two things from his experience.

WWII POW Staff Sergeant Edward Dement said "You have to believe in God. You also have to believe in your country. "

This marks the 26th time MCLB has held their annual POW/MIA ceremony.
