Skeet shooting fundraiser for fallen marine

Posted: Updated:

Dozens of people went skeet and trap shooting in honor of a fallen south Georgia Marine. Lance Corporal Steve Sutton was killed in Afghanistan in May.

A skeet shooting tournament was held today at Flint Skeet and Trap Club to raise money for a Battlefield Cross Memorial that Sutton's family and friends hope to place at Lee County High School.

"He was very well known, and he would happy, he loved coming out here with his dad, and shooting, so this was a big thing," says Toni Sutton, Widow.

"I honestly think Steve, he is a real good guy, you could never do enough for Steve, if you knew Steve, you knew a great guy," says Douglas Sims, Served 2 tours in Afghanistan with Sutton.

The Battlefield Cross Memorial will cost about $9,000. Any extra money they raised today will go towards a Project for Wounded Soldiers.
