Hundreds of South Georgia men took time out of their busy schedules to make health a priority. More than 300 people attended Phoebe Sumter's fourth annual Men's Health Conference.
Free diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screenings were conducted. Early detection and prevention is what organizers hope to accomplish through this event.
"Your health is you wealth, and a lot of times we know guys don't want to go to the doctor, they don't want to get anything checked, but we try to stress that it is very important because if you are not healthy it is going to affect not only you but your entire family," says Marcus Johnson, Phoebe Sumter's Director of Marketing.
Organizers say it takes regular visits with a primary care physician to make sure men stay healthy.
