THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Police in one south Georgia town are reminding teens and their parents they will be cited for curfew violations.

In Thomasville, kids 17 and under cannot be out after 11 Monday through Thursday and after midnight Friday and Saturday.

This reminder comes after police found 17-year old Corey Brower sitting alone on a downtown bench around three this morning.

"It's for their protection because there are just too many things that go in in the middle of the night that they don't need to be involved in. And we try to enforce that as much as possible," said Lt. Steve Belvin.

Police say it is up to each officer whether to cite the minor or just send them home.
