Have you ever wanted to go to New York Fashion Week or to LA Fashion Week? This week is Albany's First Ever Fashion Week.
Albany's going from street to chic this week thanks to the organizers of Albany Fashion Week putting in some hard work. It took them a year to finally get it off the ground.
Albany Fashion Week is the idea of former ASU graduate Charlie Hill. She's a designer and boutique owner who now lives in Atlanta.
Hill, the Downtown Merchants Association and several downtown businesses teamed up for this event. Their purpose is to shed a positive light on downtown while showing that Albany is up on their fashion game.
"We do understand our demographic. No we're not trying to put ourselves on the same level as New York or LA fashion week. One day we at least hope to get there," said Hill.
Friday at 7pm is the Plus Size Fashion Show. Tomorrow, they have a full day planned from Dress to Success Workshops, a kids fashion show and the finale tomorrow night at 7.
