You can help raise money for a permanent memorial for a fallen south Georgia Marine. Lance Corporal Steve Sutton was killed in Afghanistan in May.

A skeet shooting tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Flint Skeet and Trap Club to raise money for a Battlefield Cross Memorial that Sutton's family and friends hope to place at Lee County High School.

It will cost about $9,000. The Trap Club president says he is happy to help.

"I am ex-military too, I was in Vietnam era, and we owe these guys so much, it is like only 1% of the population defending this country," says Ed Stamper, Flint Skeet and Trap Club President.

The charity shoot will start at 9 Saturday morning. Registration begins at 8 AM. Organizers say they hope you'll donate even if you can't participate.
