Second District Congressional candidate John House admits he's got an uphill battle to defeat incumbent Sanford Bishop.
The retired Army colonel spoke to Rotary Club members in Albany Thursday.
Bishop won a tight race in 2010 against GOP challenger Mike Keown who got a lot of support from the national Republican party.
Redistricting made the 2nd district more Democratic.
National Republicans are focusing on the race this time, but House says he's receiving support from both sides.
"You can look at the FEC reports and tell that I'm not getting a lot of monetary support that Mike Keown got. I am getting a lot of voter support. The thing that keeps me going is I keep running into people who in the past supported Congressman Bishop who have concluded that he is not best for the district. Because regardless of what he has done, he has not done enough," said John House, U.S. House District 2 candidate.
House says one of the main goals he has if elected is to change federal EPA regulations that effect farmers. The Columbus native also has a daughter who will soon be serving in Afghanistan.
