You can help Second Harvest of South Georgia fight hunger this weekend.
September is National Hunger Action Month. Second Harvest is teaming up with Mission Change to build 1800 food boxes to distribute to agencies throughout the community.
Second Harvest director Jim Case says it's time to take action to end hunger in South Georgia. "Hunger is not the faceless stranger anymore. It's your neighbor. It's someone you go to church with. It's maybe somebody you're even working with that are truly struggling to meet the needs of their family," Case said.
Volunteers are needed at the Second Harvest warehouse on Clark Avenue at 9:00 a.m. Saturday to help build those food boxes.
