Albany Police continue to search for a man dressed as Batman who pointed a gun at an officer Wednesday night.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m., the officer escorted a Captain D's employee from the restaurant on East Oglethorpe Blvd. to SB&T Bank to make a deposit. When they got to the bank, they heard a noise near an air conditioner unit.

The officer told the worker to return to her car, and he checked the area. A man jumped from behind an AC unit and pointed a gun at the officer. The officer fired one shot.

The gunman ran, and no one was hurt. APD launched a major search near Hidden Oaks Apartments with the help of Dougherty County Police and Sheriff's Deputies. The Lee County K9 unit and GSP helicopter also responded.

Police describe the gunman as a black man with medium brown complexion, 5'8" - 5'10", 160 - 180 pounds. He was dressed all in black with a cape and a Batman mask.
