
Albany high quarterback Emmanuel Byrd says he wanted to make something of himself and make his mother proud after Byrd's mother died when he was just six years old."It really gave encouragement and determination to make something out of myself to make my family and my Mom proud. Its also driven me, the pain I use on something positive instead of negative and try to do with I love to do, play football.
Byrd is one of our WALB Top Ten Team members.
He's a four year starter at Albany High and got his start playing football at the Boys and Girls club when he was younger.
His arm and athletic ability is attracting college coaches from around the southeast.
For Byrd, school comes first with a 3.6 grade point average.
His mother's death motivates him to score high in the classroom.

Emanuel Byrd is being recruited by several schools including Georgia Southern, Florida and Auburn.
