Hats were the theme of the day for an event held to raise money for the Land Assistance Fund.
The Federation of Southern Cooperatives auctioned off all types of hats today in Albany in an effort to say thanks to farmers in South Georgia.
Organizers say they support farmers when they need it most because Georgia farmers are the backbone of our community.
"Without them growing out food, where are we going to get our food from? So it's the farmers that stock the selves and the stores and supply us from corner to corner for our food and nutrition and without them what we going to eat so we want them to continue on supplying us."
All proceeds will go toward a farmers appreciation dinner that's held every December.
