VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Moody Air Force Base cut the ribbon on a new $8 million Visitors Center today.

The complex also houses a vehicle inspection facility and a base post office.

The project also included a $2 million expansion to Davidson Road to help ease the flow of traffic going into Moody.

It's one of the biggest projects on the base in recent years.

"Most importantly for us is it provides a better access for commercial traffic coming in and we do think that's a big plus for moody air force base," said John Eunice, Deputy Base Civil Engineer.

The complex will officially open next Saturday.
