Dougherty County School Board Candidate Lane Price wants people to join her at Monday's school board meeting, to learn more about how the system plans to deal with misspent federal money.
Price says people have come to her with concerns about violations within the free and reduced price lunch program and to Title One funding.
The State Board of Education is requiring Dougherty County schools hire two people to monitor those programs.
"So now, we tax-payers are going to have to pay the expenses for two more people to be sure that the people who are already on our payroll do what they are supposed to do," said Lane Price, Dougherty Co. School Board At Large Candidate.
The Dougherty County school board meeting is 6 p.m. Monday night at the Administration Building on Pine Avenue.
The state demanded a corrective action plan by September 28th, and Price wants to hear what current school board members plan to do.
