A new art exhibit in Albany is showing off the beauty and history of Radium Springs.

Thursday was the opening night for Skywater 2012 at the Albany Area Arts Council.

Painting, photographs and other artwork featuring Radium Springs is now on display.

Five professors from Albany State, Valdosta State and Florida A&M Universities went to Radium Springs then went to work on the pieces.

One of those artists says we shouldn't take Radium Springs for granted.

"It's a really fascinating place even though it's not that nostalgic swimming hole that it used to be. There's still a lot of beauty there. There's still a lot of nature there and it is something we should preserve, think about and talk about," said ASU professor Charles Williams.

The exhibit is free and will be on display at the Arts Council in the old Carnegie Library next to the Municipal Auditorium until the 28th of this month.
