THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Adult education centers across the state are offering free GED practice tests next week.

Southwest Georgia Tech's Thomasville, Camilla, and Cairo locations will all offer the practice tests next Monday and Wednesday from nine to five.

School officials say the real test is too expensive for many adult learners to take without any preparation.

"The test is $160 and that's a lot of money to find out what you don't know. So this is just an opportunity for them to come in, take a practice test, get a feel for the test, what's it's like, and find out those areas of that test they need to practice on," said SWGTC Executive Director of Adult Education Dale Aldridge.

Students who score at least a 520 on each practice section will be eligible for scholarships to take the real exam.
