Before Wednesday's game against Andrew, Darton College men's soccer coach Bart Sasnett learned his Cavaliers had moved to #1 in the latest NJCAA soccer poll.
The ranking didn't hurt Darton who went out and beat Andrew 5-0.
Jowayne Laidley and Alejandro Garcia both score two goals each and Andrew Palumbo scored the fifth goal.
Darton is already 6-0 on the season and coach Sasnett says his guys deserve a break.
Bart Sasnett said. "We have played 3 or 4 nationally ranked teams already. That pushed us forward. We are only one of the undefeated teams left in the country. There is only a couple of us out there. These guys have worked really hard and they deserve the ranking."
The Darton men play Tuesday against the Thomas University Junior Varsity in Thomasville.
The Darton women improved to 2-2 with a 12-0 win over Andrew.
The Lady Cavaliers have a big region match at home Friday against Georgia Perimeter.
