A new season has not changed Valdosta State's fourth quarter luck.
The Blazers not only suffer another late 4th quarter loss but also lost their starting quarterback for at least one game.
Valdosta State is ready for their home opener Saturday night against a Fort Valley State team that beat Delta State on the road last week.
Blazers head coach David Dean says sophomore Graham Craig from Murray State will get the start against the Wildcats.
With Cayden Cochran suffering a shoulder injury last week against Saginaw Valley, Craig played very well in the second half.
Craig's play last week gives some peace of mind to the VSU coaching staff who are hoping Cayden Cochran will miss just one game with his injured shoulder.
David Dean said. "I feel very comfortable with him. Obviously, you would love to have your starter back there but if you are going to lose your starter, I think Graham Craig is a great one to have."
Valdosta State hosts Fort Valley State at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
