PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

Another life has been claimed by the Chattahoochee River. Tuesday evening, several crews with the Columbus Dive Team helped pull a Greencastle, IN man from the Phenix City side of the river.

Police spoke with Katy Litchford-Brock who said her husband 56-year-old Harold Brock went in to the river, started to struggle, called for help and went under.

Witnesses say Brock was underwater for 5 to 10 minutes before he was pulled out. He was transported to the Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just before 8:00 p.m.

This is the area's 5th drowning in less than a month.
