THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Starting this week, county health departments will begin offering seasonal flu vaccines.

Southwest Public Health District's 14 county health departments will administer the influenza vaccinations starting tomorrow.

Doses are $25. Some people we spoke with say they don't get the vaccine because it makes them feel sick.

Lorenza Crumidy says, "flu shots are good for some people but for me, I don't like them because when I take them I get real sick, but some people don't complain but I don't care too much for them."

The National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend an annual flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older as the first and best way to protect against influenza.

Besides getting the flu vaccine, health officials say one of the best preventative measures you can take is simply washing your hands.
