It wasn't always pretty but the Albany State Rams got the job done. Nathan Hoyte racked up 179 yards on the ground as the Albany State Rams beat North Greenville 24-12. The same Crusader team that knocked Albany State out of the playoffs last season.
Albany State took an early lead as Hoyte busted through the Crusader secondary for a 47 yard touchdown run to get the scoring started. The Rams led 10-3 and at halftime before Hoyte added another long run to make the score 17-3. A high snap caused North Greenville to pick up two points on a safety but that's as far as the comeback train would travel.
Dexter Moody sealed the win with a pick 6 in the fourth quarter. Albany State moves to 1-0 on the year and will play at Wingate on September 8th.
