Starting next week, county health departments will begin offering seasonal flu vaccines.
Southwest Public Health District's 14 county health departments will administer the influenza vaccinations starting next Tuesday. Doses are $25.
County health officials say you should get your shots early to better protect yourself.
"Although the peak of flu season is February or March, it's never a set time when people get the flu. There are some positive case known right now, so we like to encourage everybody to start out coming and getting the flu vaccine when it's available," said Suzette Profit with the Dougherty County Health Department.
Besides getting the flu vaccine, health officials say one of the best preventative measures you can take is simply washing your hands.
