Battle of the QBs in Quitman

The high school football season is in full gear with the Georgia High School Association officially starting their regular season this weekend.

There are some great first week match ups including several long time rivalries and one that is growing fast.

That growing rivalry is our game of the week in the Locker Room.

Brooks County is hosting Monroe.

The Trojans, ranked 4th in AA, scored more than 40 points in their season opening win against Clinch County.

Monroe will start the season with an experienced team that is looking for a win over Brooks County after the Trojans have won the last two years.

While everyone knows about Brooks County quarterback Malcolm Parrish.

Monroe believes this is game for their quarterback Charles Stafford to show off his right arm.

Charles Truitt said. "We told our kids yesterday we are playing against one of the better quarterbacks in state. We have faced one of the best in practice each and every day. I think our defense is going to be ready for the challenge and our defensive backs will too."

Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
