NORMAN PARK, GA (WALB) -

A south Georgia food queen is about to release her newest pepper jelly that is probably different from anything you have ever tasted.

Lauri Jo's southern style canning teamed up with 13th colony distillery in Americus to make a corn whiskey pepper jelly.

They will begin to sell it next month in conjunction with the state's Georgia Grown program. Lauri Jo Bennett says it has a good flavor, and the alcohol is cooked out.

"There is nothing to be afraid of as far as consuming alcohol," said Lauri Jo Bennett. "It is just that little bit of a flavor that is left in it. It still has the kick behind it. But, it does have a little bit of the whiskey flavoring to it."

She says the next two items they are working on is an all natural barbecue sauce and a chow-chow, which is like a relish.
