Teachers and parents have new resources to help kids deal with major issues such as bullying, depression, and obesity. Now kids and educators have the power to make a difference. Officials with Phoebe's Network of Trust highlighted those resources at a special luncheon Wednesday.More >>
About 30 Red Cross volunteers with training to help in emergency situations are posed to head west out of Albany Wednesday.
They will be deployed in Mississippi to assist with potential disaster victims that may be affected by high winds and heavy rains from Isaac, which is still a tropical storm at present.
The group will take the Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle, or ERV, when they go.
Red Cross management will make the determination as to exactly where the South Georgia contingent will go after the storm makes landfall, and when they have a chance to assess where the need will be greatest.
