DAWSON, GA (WALB) -
Dawson police raid a meth lab just down the street from a school. They arrested 31-year old Jimmy Steve Gray, 29-year old Brittany Louise Cowart, and 30 year old John Grady Harris after searching the home at 956 Pine Avenue about 8:30 this morning.
All three are charged with manufacturing meth, manufacturing a controlled substance within one thousand feet of a school, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
Grady was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Units from the fire department, Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit, and Terrell County Sheriff's Office responded, and haz-mat crews were also called in.
"There was a container or containers that they were concerned about so rather than putting themselves in danger, we called for help." says Tommy Poupard, Dawson Assistant Chief.
The meth lab was down the street from Terrell Academy.
Jimmy Steve Gray 31, is a resident of Carroll Co. with an active probation warrant from the Carroll Co S. O. He's charged with Felony Manufacturing controlled substance w/i 1000ft of a school, Felony Possession of a firearm by convicted felon, Felony Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
Britany Louise Cowart, 29, is a resident of Dawson, is charged with Felony Manufacturing controlled substance w/i 1000ft of a school, Felony Possession of a firearm by convicted felon, Felony Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
John J. Grady Harris, 30, a resident of Dawson, is charged with Felony Possession of Controlled Substance, Felony Manufacturing controlled substance within 1,000ft of a school, Felony Possession of a firearm by convicted felon, Felony Manufacturing Methamphetamine
