Albany Technical College has two new additions to give students more hands-on learning opportunities.

The Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism department opened a new teaching lab that is fully equipped with hotel-like bedrooms and a fully-furnished kitchen.

"This new renovation gives us a wonderful opportunity to provide hands on training for all of our students here in this hospitality, management program," says Lisa Riddle, chair of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Program.

The Marketing Management department added a new lab that includes 30 brand new mac books.

"The tools that we get to utilize now are forward thinking especially for marketing careers. The 30 mac books the opportunity to work on a computer that they otherwise wouldn't have easy access to," Kristel Baranko, Marketing Management chair says.

College leaders say the additions will enhance teaching and should increase the number of students.

This is the first semester both labs will be available for teaching.
