BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - A Bainbridge man is in jail Tuesday charged with a string of burglaries.
There's a little irony in how he got caught.
Investigators arrested 21-year old Lorenza Snell after a 911 call reporting he got shot in the hand.
Police think the gun was stolen in one of the burglaries.
Burglary victim and American Pie Pizza owner Jason Priest says he's happy to know at least one of the suspects is behind bars. "Feel pretty good about it. I'm good friends with some of the guys on the force and they're helped me out before when we've been broke in."
Burglars broke into five Bainbridge businesses and one home during the early morning hours of August 7th.
Two more businesses were hit six days later.
And investigators think 21-year old Lorenza Snell was involved in all of them.
Investigators say finding some of the stolen items from Dina's hair salon, led them to their suspect.
"We located a bag that had curling irons, clippers, a leave blower. Which was all identified by the owner of Dina's Hair Styling," said Major Robert Humphrey.
A trail of evidence originally led investigators to Snell's Broughton Street home, but he wasn't taken in until a 911 call came in saying he was shot.
"Knowing that he was identified at the house where some of the property was found, I immediately brought him in to talk to him and he said he was shot by a friend of his. He described the weapon. The weapon he described is very similar to the .22 derringer that was stolen out of Parker Paint," said Humphrey.
Priest says they now have security cameras set up that they didn't have during the burglary. "You know next time somebody breaks in we'll have footage of it and be able to see who it is. Maybe that will prevent any future break-ins."
Investigators say to avoid any theft or damaged property, they recommend business owners leave the cash register open, but with no money inside.
Bainbridge investigators are looking for at least one suspected accomplice. If you have any information on the crimes, they want you to call them at 229-515-0973.
