All the campaign ads and robo calls let you know it's definitely an election year. Political rallies aimed at bringing out more voters are happening all over the country.

The latest voter rally will be this Saturday in Albany and it's sponsored by The Dougherty County Democratic Committee. The rally and fundraiser starts at 9am and ends at 12 on Saturday.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters from California will be the featured guest speaker. Waters has served eleven terms in the House of Representatives.

Leaders of this get out the vote campaign are focused on bringing more African American women to the polls. Their research found a lack of interest in that voting demographic.

They want to empower, teach and inspire more women to get involved. They'll have guest speakers, a question and answer session, and other activities.

This rally is being held at The First Albany Deliverance Church. This event is opened to whomever would like to attend.
