Hospital committee hears needs for mental health, housing

Posted: Updated:

The Community Benefits Committee at Phoebe Putney Hospital discussed their plans for the future this morning.

The committee held 'Key Leader' interviews with different non-profit groups throughout the community.

The board discussed the findings of those interviews this morning. They found the greatest needs were found in the areas of mental health services, affordable housing, and teen pregnancy among others.

Analyzing needs and discussing ideas is what today's meeting was all about.

"It's important to get feedback from the community, along with that data, to make sure that what we're doing as we go forward  meets the needs of the community, and that we prioritize our limited resources that we have," Said Ron Wallace of the Community Benefits Committee.

The benefits committee will have the Community Needs Assessment plan completed to present to Phoebe Board of Directors in July of 2013.
