SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

Three Lee County men are in jail Friday night accused of an attempted armed robbery in Sylvester.

Around 10:30 AM, Police say Andrew Lockett, Eric Shead, and Timothy Roberson went to J & K beauty supply on East Franklin Street

The store was not open, and the clerk would not let them in even though they showed a handgun.

The three men ran, but the suspects were arrested a short time later.

"She was able to get a tag number which was great," said investigator Kenneth Washington. "It's good information. That information was passed on by our communications center and given out to all agencies in the surrounding areas."

Worth County deputies stopped the car at the intersection of highways 33 and 300.

Authorities expect to make one more arrest.
