CHERRY HILLS, CO. -
University of Georgia golfer T.J. Mitchell had a tough day in the 2nd round of stroke play at the 2012 United States Amateur in Cherry Hills, Colorado.
The Albany native though still has a chance to qualify for the match play portion of the championship.
After opening with a 68 on Monday, T.J. Mitchell shot a 75 on Tuesday.
That dropped him from 9th to a tie for 51st place.
Mitchell is one of 17 players tied for 51st place.
Only 64 players will advance to the match play portion of the championship.
The 17 players tied for 51st will have a playoff to determine the 14 players who will advance to the match play tournament.
The playoff will begin early Wednesday morning.
