THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A south Georgia museum is honoring a retired history professor this weekend for her donation to the museum.
92-year old Perra Bell is giving about 4,000 books on African-American history to the Jack Hadley Black History Museum in Thomasville.
Museum Curator Jack Hadley says it's because of people like Bell that his and other museums can continue to operate.
"A lot of mistakes they make is they don't make arrangements to take action to place these items to someone in their care when they pass on. And that's why I encourage people that have history items, artifacts, that they want to preserve, donate them to a museum."
A dedication ceremony starts at 6pm Saturday in the Douglass Library.
