BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Folks in one south Georgia county are preparing for the awful chance that a child goes missing.

Bainbridge's Orion Lodge Number eight is once again sponsoring the Georgia Child Identification Program.

Between now and December, every parent of a Decatur County 2nd grader will have the option to allow their child to participate in the program.

"They take the children's finger prints. They ask them interview questions so they can have their face on camera, have their voice on camera. They provide a CD and they do a DNA swab," said 2nd Grade Science Teacher Melissa Clayton.

In case of an abduction, parents can provide this information to the police who in turn can share it with national search services like the "Amber Alert" system.
